The Ferrari 156 “Sharknose” #2, driven by American Phil Hill at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, delivered one of the most historically significant victories in Formula 1. Hill started fourth and won the 43-lap race, becoming the first American to win the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship; he also secured Ferrari’s first Constructors’ Championship.
