The Ford GT40 Mk II 7.0L V8 #1 fielded by Shelby American was driven by the legendary pairing of Ken Miles and Denny Hulme in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Miles, a brilliant British-born development driver, was instrumental in transforming the GT40 into a race-winning machine, while Hulme—who would become the 1967 Formula One World Champion—provided exceptional speed and consistency. Although the #1 car crossed the finish line virtually alongside the winning #2 GT40, race officials awarded victory to McLaren and Amon because their car had started farther back on the grid and therefore covered a slightly greater distance. Many enthusiasts still regard Miles and Hulme as the race's "moral winners," as they had dominated much of the event before the orchestrated photo finish. The GT40 Mk II distinguished itself with its mighty 7.0-liter (427 cu in) V8, rugged chassis, advanced aerodynamics, and unmatched endurance reliability, creating one of the most iconic sports cars in motorsport history and helping Ford end Ferrari's reign at Le Mans.

Top Marques produces high-end 1:18 and 1:12 scale model cars that are generally regarded as premium collector pieces. Most of their models are resin replicas, which allows for very sharp body lines, accurate proportions, and high-quality paint finishes that closely replicate the real vehicles. Their larger 1:12 scale models especially showcase extensive detailing, sometimes including removable parts and carefully reproduced engines, while many of their 1:18 models are sealed display pieces designed primarily for visual accuracy rather than opening features. Produced in limited editions, Top Marques models are often sought after by collectors for their craftsmanship, rarity, and focus on historically significant racing and exotic cars.
