At the 1982 Monaco Grand Prix, Niki Lauda piloted the McLaren MP4/1B, a pivotal car in Formula 1 history as one of the first to feature a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis. Lauda, a two-time World Champion making his return to F1 after a three-year hiatus, faced a challenging race. Despite his skill and the car's advanced design, Lauda retired after 56 laps due to engine issues, while teammate John Watson also failed to finish.

The 1982 Monaco GP was distinctive for its unpredictable conditions and the dominance of the Brabham team, with Riccardo Patrese securing victory. For Lauda, this race underscored the complexities of his comeback and the competitive nature of the sport during that era.

This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
