The 1992 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 2 Coupé #7, driven by Georg Memminger, Roland Kussmaul, Walter Röhrl, and Andy Bovensiepen, competed in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, finishing an impressive 9th overall. Walter Röhrl was a two-time World Rally Champion celebrated for his exceptional car control, while Roland Kussmaul was a respected Porsche engineer and test driver whose technical expertise complemented the team's racing experience. The Porsche's naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine, rear-engine layout, and rear-wheel drive gave it the unmistakable sound and handling character of the 911. Its combination of German engineering, durability, and agility made it a strong endurance competitor against the front-engined BMW M3s that finished first and second that year.
