Engel, an accomplished Mercedes-AMG works driver and two-time Bathurst pole-sitter, finally captured his first Bathurst 12 Hour victory on his 10th attempt, sharing the historic win with Grenier and Martin. The #888 produced one of the event's most remarkable comebacks, starting 29th after qualifying problems and charging through the field to win by just 1.037 seconds, completing 262 laps. The GT3 EVO is a purpose-built racing version of the AMG GT, distinguished by its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, rear-wheel drive, sophisticated race-tuned suspension and aggressive GT3 aerodynamic package, including its large rear wing and front splitter—features designed to generate the high-speed stability required on Bathurst's challenging Mount Panorama circuit.
