This is the Lancia Stratos No.4 Winner Monte Carlo Rally 1979 Darniche/Mahe in 1:18 scale by Spark.
The Lancia Stratos No. 4 of the Chardonnet Team won the 1979 Monte Carlo Rally with French driver Bernard Darniche and co-driver Alain Mahé, defeating Björn Waldegård’s Ford Escort RS1800 by just six seconds. Darniche was an exceptionally accomplished rally driver, and his remarkable final-night charge saw him set the fastest time on all ten of the final special stages. The Stratos was uniquely designed for rallying, with a mid-mounted Ferrari-derived 2.4-liter V6, short wheelbase, lightweight construction, and outstanding balance that made it exceptionally agile on tight, twisting roads. The No. 4 was also distinctive in its French Racing Blue Chardonnet livery with yellow wheels, and its victory was especially significant because it came from a privateer team after the factory Lancia program had largely withdrawn from rallying.
Spark models are hand painted, decorated and assembled. Polished to a beautiful finish Exceptionally
accurate scale and shape. Each model is created using a variety of production processes, such as hand
cast resin, diecast and injected molded thermoplastics. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing
and waterslide decals are also used. Spark ensures the absolute best quality possible.
