In the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Aston Martin Valkyrie car #009—fielded by the Aston Martin THOR Team—took on the iconic endurance race with a driver lineup featuring Alex Riberas (ESP), Marco Sørensen (DEN) and Roman de Angelis (CAN). This marked the car's first 24-hour outing in the Hypercar class, an ambitious debut for a road-derived hypercar uniquely adapted for top-level endurance racing.
What set this race apart was the fact that the Valkyrie #009 is one of the only entries in the Hypercar category derived directly from a production hypercar and the only one competing in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and IMSA in 2025. Despite being new to the gruelling demands of a 24-hour race, the team achieved a major milestone simply by finishing—the #009 completed the race, evidencing both reliability and progress.
This combination of high-technology, a crossover from road-to-race, and the rarity of its origin story gives the #009 Valkyrie’s appearance at Le Mans a unique narrative—making it a standout entry in the 2025 event.
