The 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo S Lightweight (Leichtbau) in Speed Yellow was an exceptionally rare, competition-inspired evolution of the 964 Turbo, built with an uncompromising focus on performance. Its 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six produced 381 horsepower, while extensive weight reduction—including lightweight body panels, thinner glass, and the removal of air conditioning, rear seats, power steering, and other comforts—cut approximately 180 kg (397 lb) compared with the standard Turbo. The lowered suspension, 18-inch Speedline wheels, red “Big Red” brakes, and distinctive additional air intakes gave it a purposeful appearance and sharper handling. With only 86 examples produced, including just 38 in Speed Yellow, the Turbo S Lightweight stands apart from its era's supercars as a remarkably focused, road-legal machine that brought Porsche’s racing philosophy directly to the street.
