1968 Ford GT40 MK.1 White/Blue Stripes 1:18

The 1968 Ford GT40 Mk I is one of the most celebrated endurance racing cars in automotive history, renowned for helping Ford challenge Ferrari’s dominance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its low-slung, aerodynamic body, wide stance, and mid-mounted 4.7-liter V8 engine delivered an impressive combination of power, stability, and high-speed performance. Unlike many contemporary front-engined sports cars, the GT40’s mid-engine configuration provided excellent weight distribution and handling, while its robust construction made it well suited to the demands of endurance racing. The 1968 season was particularly significant, as the GT40 Mk I secured Ford’s third consecutive overall Le Mans victory, with Pedro Rodríguez and Lucien Bianchi winning in a GT40 run by JW Automotive Engineering. Its combination of American V8 muscle, purposeful British engineering, and international racing success set it apart from its European rivals and cemented its status as a timeless motorsport legend.
