The BMW M4 GT3 EVO #31, entered by Team WRT for the 2025 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, was driven by BMW works stars Sheldon van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor, and Marco Wittmann. Van der Linde is a former DTM champion, Vanthoor is a multiple-time endurance-racing winner and one of the world's leading GT drivers, while Wittmann is a two-time DTM champion; all three also had roles in BMW's LMDh Hypercar program. The M4 GT3 EVO is a purpose-built GT3 racer powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six, with rear-wheel drive, sophisticated aerodynamics, racing ABS and traction control, and extensive lightweight carbon-fiber construction. The EVO version introduced aerodynamic and suspension refinements designed to improve tire management and consistency over long-distance races. The #31 was particularly notable for its exceptionally strong driver lineup and impressive pace, although technical problems and damage ultimately cost it a lap, resulting in an eighth-place finish.
