1971 Chevrolet Impala Cabriolet Green 1:43

loading...

The 1971 Chevrolet Impala Cabriolet (Convertible) was part of the completely redesigned fifth-generation Impala, distinguished by its enormous proportions, flowing “fuselage” bodywork, and classic full-size American styling. At more than 18 feet long, the Impala offered an exceptionally spacious five-passenger cabin and a substantial 121.5-inch wheelbase, while power front disc brakes became standard for improved stopping performance. The standard convertible V8 was a 350-cubic-inch Turbo-Fire producing 245 horsepower, with buyers able to step up to powerful 400- and 454-cubic-inch V8s, including the 454 rated at 365 horsepower. With only 4,576 Impala convertibles produced for 1971, the open-air version was considerably less common than the sedan and hardtop. Its combination of full-size comfort, V8 power, dramatic styling, and limited convertible production makes it a particularly distinctive example of early-1970s American motoring.
