1958 Porsche 356 Zagato Carrera Coupe Silver 1:43

The 1958 Porsche 356 Carrera Zagato Coupe represents a fascinating collaboration between Porsche engineering and Milanese coachbuilder Zagato, created from the lightweight, competition-oriented 356 Carrera. Its hand-shaped aluminum body was designed to reduce weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency, featuring a low roofline, streamlined profile, curved windshield, and distinctive rear fins. The original Zagato-bodied Porsche was commissioned for French racing driver Claude Storez, who campaigned it successfully in period competition, including a notable second-place finish at the Reims stage of the 1958 Tour de France Automobile. The original car was later destroyed in a racing accident and disappeared, making the design a remarkable piece of Porsche racing history. Decades later, Zagato recreated the lost design under its “Sanction Lost” program. Its combination of Porsche’s four-cam Carrera performance and Zagato’s lightweight Italian coachwork makes it one of the most unusual and exclusive interpretations of the 356.
