1973 Buick Riviera Grey Metallic/White 1:18

loading...

The 1973 Buick Riviera was a striking example of Buick’s personal-luxury coupe, best remembered for its dramatic “boattail” rear styling, which made the third-generation Riviera stand out from virtually every other American car of the era. There was no specific racing driver associated with the standard Riviera, as it was primarily designed as a luxury grand tourer rather than a race car. For performance-minded buyers, however, the optional 455-cubic-inch V8 and Stage 1 package produced 260 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, while the GS handling package added a more performance-oriented suspension and positive-traction differential. The combination of enormous size, powerful V8 performance, luxurious appointments, and its controversial boat-tail design gave the 1973 Riviera a personality unlike its more conventional competitors.
