The Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3 R #98 of ROWE Racing, driven by Porsche works drivers Laurens Vanthoor, Nick Tandy, and Earl Bamber, captured a dramatic overall victory at the 2020 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, completing 527 laps. Vanthoor, a two-time Spa winner and local Belgian favorite, shared the car with 2015 Le Mans winner Nick Tandy and two-time Le Mans winner Earl Bamber, creating an exceptionally accomplished endurance-racing lineup. The GT3 R's 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, rear-engine layout, rear-wheel drive, lightweight construction, and sophisticated GT3 aerodynamics made it especially effective on Spa's fast, flowing circuit. The victory was particularly remarkable because Tandy brought the Porsche home despite alarming noises and an oil leak during the final laps, crossing the finish just 4.687 seconds ahead of the leading Audi.
