The #9 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo was a strong contender in the 2025 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, one of the world’s most demanding GT endurance races, held at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The car qualified fourth overall, with a best time of 2:15.792, putting it among the front-running Pro-class entries.
Its three drivers brought considerable experience:
Mikaël Grenier — Canadian professional driver with extensive GT3 and Mercedes-AMG racing experience.
Maximilian Götz — German racing driver and 2021 DTM champion, known for his speed and consistency in GT competition.
Maxime Martin — Belgian endurance-racing specialist and BMW and Mercedes GT racer, particularly motivated to perform well at his home circuit.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo uses a front-mounted, naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing the distinctive sound and strong performance associated with AMG’s customer-racing cars. Its long bonnet, aggressive aerodynamic package, wide racing tires, and large rear wing help it remain stable through Spa’s fast corners, including the famous Eau Rouge and Raidillon complex. Unfortunately, the team’s promising race ended prematurely. After 127 laps and approximately six hours, the #9 retired because of overheating, preventing Grenier, Götz, and Martin from challenging for the finish.
