The 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT3 No. 55 – Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf, 24 Hours of Nürburgring was a powerful endurance racer entered in one of the world's most demanding sports-car competitions. Driven by Patrick Assenheimer, Luca-Sandro Trefz, Dominik Baumann, and Julien Apothéloz, the Mercedes competed in the SP9 class against some of the strongest GT3 machinery from Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Ferrari. The GT3 featured a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter AMG V8 engine producing approximately 550 horsepower, a lightweight racing chassis, sophisticated aerodynamic bodywork, and rear-wheel drive. The legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, with its 25-kilometer combination of high-speed straights, blind corners, elevation changes, and challenging weather conditions, tested both driver and machine. The No. 55 Landgraf Mercedes qualified fourth in its class during qualifying but unfortunately retired after completing 143 laps because of technical difficulties.
Despite not reaching the finish, this striking Mercedes-AMG remains a memorable representation of Landgraf Motorsport's 2022 endurance campaign and the demanding nature of the Nürburgring 24-hour race.
