The Ford Mustang GT3 No. 88, entered by Proton Competition in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, was driven by Italians Stefano Gattuso and Giammarco Levorato alongside Norwegian Dennis Olsen, an experienced endurance racer and part of the Mustang GT3 program. Gattuso and Levorato were making their FIA WEC/Le Mans debuts, while Olsen brought valuable experience, having helped the No. 88 Mustang to a third-place LMGT3 finish at Le Mans in 2024. The Mustang GT3 is especially distinctive because its 5.4-liter naturally aspirated Coyote-based V8 produces the unmistakable sound associated with the Mustang, while the race car uses a bespoke suspension, rear-mounted transaxle, carbon-fiber body panels and dedicated GT3 aerodynamics. Unfortunately, the No. 88 retired from the 2025 race after 46 laps following a loss of the left-rear wheel, ending its Le Mans challenge.
