The Ferrari 126C2 #27, driven by the fearless Gilles Villeneuve, took part in the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, a race tragically remembered not for its outcome, but for the fatal accident that claimed Villeneuve's life during qualifying. Known for his raw speed, bravery, and deep loyalty to Ferrari, Villeneuve was attempting a flying lap when he collided with Jochen Mass’s car at high speed, resulting in a catastrophic crash. The race itself was overshadowed by the loss, and it marked a turning point in Formula 1’s approach to safety. Villeneuve’s death deeply affected the racing world, and his legacy as one of the sport’s most passionate and daring drivers was forever cemented on that somber weekend at Zolder.

This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
