The 1956 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible was a striking example of Chrysler’s new “Forward Look,” designed by legendary stylist Virgil Exner. Its long, low body featured graceful tailfins, distinctive “Twin-Tower” taillamps, bold chrome trim, and the famous eight chrome accents on the rear fenders that became a New Yorker hallmark. Under the hood was Chrysler’s powerful 354-cubic-inch FirePower Hemi V-8, producing 280 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, paired with a push-button automatic transmission. Adding to its exclusivity, only 921 New Yorker convertibles were produced in 1956, making this luxurious open-top Chrysler considerably rarer than many of its contemporary competitors.

painted, decorated and assembled. Beautiful detail and accuracy of shape and scale. Photo
etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are also used. Each model
comes with its own acrylic display case.
