🔴 Max Verstappen #1 – Red Bull Racing
Verstappen entered 2025 with high expectations but found himself in a challenging season as Red Bull lagged behind McLaren in outright pace. Despite spending much of the year outside title contention—with a 69-point deficit at mid-season—he remained a formidable force, claiming four pole positions, including a standout performance at Silverstone, and scoring two wins (Japan, Emilia-Romagna). His resilience and tactical nous shone through, particularly in races where he spun (e.g., British GP) but still fought back into the top five. With team dynamics shifting—Christian Horner’s exit and whispers of a move to Mercedes—Verstappen’s focus turned to personal performance and occasional race glory in a transitional phase for the team.
🔵 Yuki Tsunoda #22 – Oracle Red Bull Racing
Promoted to the senior Red Bull squad mid-season, Tsunoda showed early promise, particularly in Bahrain where he scored his first points. However, his adaptation to the ultra-demanding RB21 proved tough characterized by inconsistent weekend upgrades, qualifying struggles, and a lack of sustained pace. Often fast in practice but unable to maintain form in Q2, Tsunoda described feeling “lost” and disappointed as the season wore on. Despite flashes of potential, he ended up struggling to keep up and became a case study in how difficult it is for even talented drivers to tame the modern Red Bull race car outside Verstappen.
In short, Verstappen’s 2025 was an uphill battle marked by grit and flashes of brilliance amid turbulence, while Tsunoda’s season highlighted the stark challenge of stepping into a top-tier ride mid-year—full of promise, but grappling with adaptation and consistency.
