This is the 1989 Honda NSR500 WGP500 #2 in 1:12 scale by AUTOart.

The 1989 Honda NSR500 #2, raced by Australian champion Wayne Gardner, was a fierce competitor in the WGP 500 season. Sporting the iconic Rothmans livery, this NSR500 chassis featured a powerful 499 cc two-stroke V4 producing over 165 hp and an aggressive “screamer”-style powerband, thanks to its twin-spar aluminum frame and early quick-shifter . Gardner, the 1987 World Champion, wrestled with the bike’s legendary peaky performance and tricky handling, particularly at high-speed tracks. What made this bike—and this season—stand out was Gardner’s raw talent taming one of the most unforgiving machines ever built: despite its brutal nature, he consistently extracted podium performances and even victories, showcasing the limits of both rider and machine during an era of intense two-stroke GP racing.
