The International Race of Champions (IROC) was a North American auto racing competition, created by Les Richter, Roger Penske and Mike Phelps, promoted as an equivalent of an American All-Star Game or The Masters. Race events were held at various tracks across the United States from 1974 to 2006. IROC was also notable for its field of invited drivers, who were considered the best in their respective disciplines of motorsports. The 1975 IROC series featured 12 races

Bobby Unser is a former American race car driver who competed in various forms of motorsports, including IndyCar and NASCAR. He won the Indianapolis 500 three times (1968, 1975, 1981) and is one of only three drivers to have won the 500 three times. He competed in the IROC series from its inception in 1974 through 1979, and won the series championship in 1977 and 1978.
