Hey Valerie,
I wanted to send you a note to let you know that I got the Ferrari Superamerica model, and it is awesome!! At first I saw the "e;Elite"e; designation on the box, and thought it was the regular Elite and not the Super Elite. But after opening it and checking everything out, it was clear this is the Super version.
The packaging is incredibly nice and well thought out. I love the hinged box. The only downside is that there were no instructions, so it took me a while to figure out how to safely remove it from the box, and clip the wires holding the trunk and hood down.
The paint is gorgeous, glossy and deep looking. I've always considered the Franklin Mint models to be among the best in paint (that 1981 Corvette is just beautiful), and the Superamerica is at least as good. The detail is amazing - the carbon fiber trim, the side windows, drilled brake rotors, drilled pedals, paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, golf clubs in the trunk, trim plates in the engine bay, prancing horse emblem on the gas lid, etc. etc. All the opening parts work perfectly and feel solid (I have an Exoto Jaguar XJ-R9 LM with a left door that doesn't open properly, and it's a replacement for one I sent back with the same problem). All the proportions look just right, and the small details like emblems and leather grain on the seats are very intricate and fine.
The model has exceeded my expectations, and I am very happy. The leather base and numbered plaque are a classy touch too. I am curious, the plaque says "e;218 of a possible 2006"e;....does that mean they may not make all 2006 models?

Recently, I had to return a car to MintModels in. There were a couple of quality issues that I did not notice until I looked closely at some pictures I took of the car. Frankly, one of the problems would have even escaped reasonable quality control at the factory.
My point is, I just received a replacement and it is perfect. Most important to me was a hand-written note from Michelle that she had personally inspected the car. I pre-ordered the F-40 along with a few others, they not only notified me that it was being shipped, but sent me the tracking information along the way and sent me notice that it had been delivered and who signed for it. Great service and the customer service is excellent if you need to call. |

Mule, I would try your source but I am always hesitant for places where I can not view the item via a quality web site. I am also considering an older personal choice in legacydiecast.com where I purchased a few Exotos on clearance. If you are not aware of that site I suggest an occasional peek to see any bargains you can find, ( as I once picked up the Exoto Prost F1 Ferrari for 100 bucks.) Regardless, thanks for the heads up and contact info on your sources.

Thanks for another great model from CMC. I recently received my 1954 Mercedes-Benz Streamliner, and it's a stunner. I was a little hesitant to order the car at first, because from certain angles, it IS unusual looking....one might say, "e;goofy."e; But seeing the real model is pure joy. The finish is amazing, and the detail is superb.

hi michelle just thought i'd touch base with you on the recent 60 vette, awsome! the fit and finish is the best i have seen on a f/m car. or any other for that matter. although i have mostly vettes i do have lots of other muscle cars from various makers a big part of them are camaros from lane, gmp ,f/m ,d/m but i still havn't seen a 67 rs/ss in bolero red with the z87 interior in 1/24 scale this is something that i think there is a market for. i would like to see f/m do this. just my opinion. thanks for the low sn # on the vette. keep the cool cars coming. albert.
